Basic Nurse Assistant (BNA) Career Program Details

Demand for CNAs remains high due to a large aging population. The Certified Nurse Assistant program is a foundational course for registered nursing students, and many CNAs further their education by completing the advanced training necessary to become a registered nurse.

Employment as a nursing assistant can generally be found in nursing homes and hospitals. Home health aides work in private homes and are employed by home health agencies, social service agencies, public health agencies, and nursing associations. Students may elect to begin working as a CNA while continuing their education.

Entrance Requirements

To apply, students must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and be at least 16 years of age. Some of the programs at SOLEX College may require additional admission requirements. Under certain circumstances, an applicant under the age of 16, or who has not graduated from high school may be considered for enrollment with approval of college administration.
